Thai Massage IntroductionThai Massage is an integral part of traditional Thai medicine which in itself, is a natural, holistic approach to health and well-being. Thai massage applies force to pressure points, muscles and ligaments along with gentle stretching to relieve symptoms and diseases in addition to improving flexibility of joint and muscle systems.This 7 day course touches the rudiments of Thai massage while providing the student with plenty practice and data to immediately offer treatments upon completion.
Classes
Classes are given on both in groups and individually. Group classes have a minimum of 2 students and a maximum of 4. The group classes are always given to an even number of students so that you are partnered with someone who will be both your “therapist” and “patient”.
How to Prepare for Thai Massage Classes
Avoid alcohol and cigarettes for the entirety of your course
Refrain from having large meals
Be aware that a kind, calm and gentle disposition is best for the practice of Thai massage
Avoid late nights
It is best to meditate at least once a day in order to keep your mind still
What You Should Bring
Comfortable cotton clothes
A note book and pen
You can bring your cell phone but I will require you to turn it off or no disturbing mode during class time
What The Course Includes
60 hours of classes which include theory and frequent practice sessions
An overview of Buddhism
An introduction to meditation and its practice
A pair of comfortable Thai cotton “fisherman pants”. It is common practice in Thailand to wear these pants as a practitioner. These are ample, extremely comfortable and allow the therapist all freedom of movements
Cost
Basic 60 hours Thai massage course is $ 1200
Advance 150 hours Thai massage course is $ 2500
schedule is flexible for each class
(Right now Thai government under Military Rule I can’t provide certificate of The Union of Thai Traditional Medicine Society anymore unless I open a massage school in Thailand so I can teach but no certificate. May be in the future (Update June 9, 2019)
